2013 and ONWARD!
January 03, 2013
A lot has happened in the past 6 1/2 years. My health has improved since diagnosis and treatment for Primary Systemic Amyloidosis in 2006, I have had the opportunity to play guitar (and bass) and sing onstage with REAL musicians, something I had been craving since my CROWCUSS days, have fronted a band, CheckOne2, at the 2010 Calgary International Blues Festival, met some of the finest folks EVER at the various jams in town in particular Mikey's Juke Joint, have seen my daughter Samantha blossom into a mature young adult and am watching my daughter Jesse successfully work her way through those tough mid-teen years. Both are extremely talented individuals and when they sing together it is absolutely GOLDEN!!
I have experienced the implosion of a 25 1/2 year marriage . The divorce was finalized on June 1, 2012. Lisa moved to PEI in July, 2011 and I continue to reside in the house we moved into 23 years ago.
Here is a selection of original songs of mine. Hopefully soon I will have some brand new material to upload.
Middle of the City This is a song I wrote in the late 70's while I was working at 'Sound One', a music store in the Mission area. I was living in a house on Centre St N where Mike Chursinoff had his 'Jonathon Sound' 8-track recording studio. I had all-access so occasionally I took the opportunity to lay down a few tracks. Lately I have been telling some folks that hey, I play drums in addition to guitar and bass. Most give me a good-natured laugh. This song is me on drums, bass guitar, lead guitar and all vocals. I produced, engineered and arranged the song.
More to come :)
